SERVICE DOG TRAINING
Our service dog program is designed to be self paced, cost effective, and fully tailored to each handler and dog. We focus on building confident and reliable service dog teams through clear training plans, accessible support, and a kind and thoughtful approach.
Every journey begins with a Service Dog Aptitude Test which helps us determine whether your dog is a strong fit for service dog work before moving forward. This first step allows us to set realistic expectations and build a plan that truly fits your needs.
Wags for Independence is guided by our dedicated service dog trainers Robin and Becky who bring a supportive, experienced, and compassionate touch to every team they work with. Their combined insight and lived experience make this program both welcoming and deeply effective.

Attend our Service Dog Workshop
Along with the program launch we are hosting a Wags for Independence Workshop, which gives a comprehensive look into the world of service dog work. This workshop is perfect for anyone who wants to understand
• What makes a service dog a service dog
• Rights and protections for handlers
• Qualifications and realistic expectations for training
• What public access readiness means
• How to navigate service dog etiquette in community settings
It is also a great resource for small businesses that want to make sure they are welcoming service dogs appropriately. We will cover how to interact with service dog teams, what is and is not allowed when asking questions, and how to create a respectful environment for clients and customers who rely on service dogs. This workshop is designed for individuals, families, business owners, educators, and anyone who wants to feel confident and informed when working with or supporting service dog teams.
